Husk chips (Coir Mulch) produced from the husks at the outer layer of coconut consist of long fibres and sponge-like pith particles. Coconut husk is cut into 4mm to 20mm inch size husk chips. Husk chips are ideal for the potting mixers to increase air fill porosity and water holding capacity.

Hydrate the blocks slowly by using water and allow the moisture to be fully absorbed. Once the block is completely reconstituted, you will get the yield of litres.

Coir Fibre.JPG

Coco Fiber or Bristle Fiber is a coarse fibre extracted from the fibrous outer shell of a coconut. The coir fiber is relatively water-proof and is one of few natural fibers resistant to damage by salt water.

There are two types of coconut fibre based on their colours.

  • Fibre, extracted from coconuts harvested after about ten to twelve months on the plant, contain pliable white fibers.

  • Brown fiber is obtained from fully matured coconuts.

The stiff, straight and long strands of fiber are termed bristle fiber or brush fiber. Various grades are available depending on the requirements, graded based on length, colour and maturity
